christmas time is here
Time for this year's Christmas pics!

And here's the tree. It will be tinseled on Christmas Eve, as tradition dictates.
(The tradition of being a lazy-ass.)

The tree and the mantle. And a telescope.
Alumni of Clifton T. Barkalow Middle School will recognize the CD clock cabinet on the mantle, which will not keep its fucking door shut.

A better shot of the mantle, which I so lovingly decorated, and the CD clock cabinet, which I so forcefully jammed shut.
The teddy bear stocking is mine, and it's about nineteen years old, I think. The paw print belongs to Sherlock. (Or does it???)

The living room. The floating boxes are back!
Our pictures, however, are not. Bare walls 4evr!

I'm always disappointed by the way these look in photos.
The effect is about ten times better when you walk into the living room and see tiny gifts floating in the air above your head.

The Charlie Brown tree. In the background, you can see the garland on the TV. Festive!

We have friends!

And proteus...es!

And a giant wind chime! It sounds like a church bell.

Christmas goodies! My mother is on a major baking spree.
Clockwise from top: Two bags of no-sugar-added oatmeal raisin cookies, made with yogurt-covered raisins. A plate of hand-decorated butter cookies. A plate of plain butter cookies, ready to be dipped in chocolate and sprinkled with colored sugar. A box of caramel brownies. A box of no-sugar-added oatmeal raisin cookies, made with plain raisins.

The makings of Christmas goodies! She also made sugar-free macaroons and sugar-free caramel brownies yesterday. (My dad is a diabetic.) Today, she made some sort of Rocky Road concoction that involved throwing caramel and mini-marshmallows into melted chocolate, and a toffee candy thing covered with a boatload of melted chocolate chips. Tomorrow, she'll be making chocolate chip cookies and something else she hasn't planned yet. I swear to God, she's trying to fatten us all up for Christmas dinner.

And that's the end of that.

I always want to do one of those photo memes where I'll take a picture of anything you want to see, but I only have like four friends, and only two of those friends comment, and one of those two already knows what my entire life looks like. So, like, if you want to see a picture of anything, you can just ask.

And don't forget to donate to the kids at Progress High School in Brooklyn!

You're one of the aforementioned two!

where are my coooookies?!?

If you stayed in one place long enough, I could probably ship you the non-chocolate-covered ones. Of course, she covered pretty much everything in chocolate. She covered dog biscuits in (fake) chocolate.
